How this comparison was put together

A comparison is only worth reading if you can check it yourself, so this one is built from two kinds of source and nothing else: what each company publishes on its own website, quoted as theirs, and what the Nevada State Contractors Board register shows about each licence.

Every claim about another company on this page was taken from that company's own website or from the Nevada State Contractors Board public licence register, and checked on September 19, 2026.

This is an independent comparison. Prestige Garage Door Services is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any company named on this page. All company names, trademarks and logos are the property of their owners.

The Nevada State Contractors Board publishes that register as a courtesy and does not guarantee that it is complete or current, so every licence line here is what the register showed on September 19, 2026 rather than a statement about the business behind it.

We do not reprint another company's offer figures. An offer is theirs to change whenever they like, and a figure copied onto our page ages into a claim about their business that they never made. Where a company publishes an offer, this page says what the offer is for and names the site it is published on, so you can read the current figure and the current terms from them.

What you will not find on this page:

• No star rating, review count or review excerpt presented as a score for another company.
• No claim about how another company prices, sells or treats its customers. We have no way to check that, so we do not say it.
• No figure from another company's offer, because their figures are theirs to change and ours would go stale.
• Nothing about any individual person at any company, including this one.

Prestige and A1 Garage Door Service, side by side

Where a row would need us to guess at something a company has not published, the row is not in the table at all. An empty cell in a comparison reads as an absence of the thing rather than an absence of a published statement, and that is not a difference we can evidence.

What each company publishes, checked September 19, 2026

What A1 Garage Door Service publishes that we do not

Every line in the table above was read on September 19, 2026 from the source named in its column. A comparison that found one company ahead on every row would not be worth your time, so here is the other direction.

On spring warranty, their page is more specific than ours. A1 Garage Door Service publishes a cycle rating and a lifetime warranty for its MaxLife springs in the wording quoted above. We publish no spring warranty length at all, because our terms are set per job and confirmed in writing before work starts. If a published warranty length is the thing you are comparing on, theirs is written down on their site and ours is not written down anywhere.

On discounts, the same. Their site publishes money off a new garage door installation. We publish no money off anything, ever, because the two figures we publish are prices rather than reductions from a higher number. If a headline discount on a new door is what you are shopping for, that is on their page and it is not on ours.

Their published service list also runs wider than ours in places. Insulation, weather stripping and garage storage all appear on their Las Vegas page. We do not list storage work at all.

And on published review volume there is no contest. a1garage.com states "140,000+ Reviews", read on September 19, 2026. That is their own company wide claim, the page does not name a platform for it, and it is not a Google reading that we took. Our own Google profile showed 5.0 from 4 reviews when we checked it on the same day. Four is a small number, it is the number, and we are not going to dress it up.

What we publish, and what each line commits us to

Here is our side of the table with the conditions attached, because a list of claims with the conditions removed is an advertisement rather than a comparison.

Checkable, and worth verifying rather than believing:

• Nevada contractor licence 0091256, classification C-3D Overhead Doors, bonded and insured. Search the number on the state register rather than taking our word for it.
• A $499 same-day spring replacement on qualifying spring configurations. The price is confirmed after a free inspection and before any work begins, and if your door does not qualify you are told so at the inspection and you owe nothing.
• New doors from $1,400 installed on qualifying standard sizes and configurations. A door outside that is measured and quoted before anything is ordered.
• A $0 trip fee, at any hour, including the visit that ends with you saying no.
• A free inspection of the whole door rather than the one part that failed.
• 35 years in the trade, family owned and still family run. That is experience in the work, not the age of the licence.
• Around the clock service on residential, commercial and RV doors across the Las Vegas Valley, all makes and models.
• Warranties on the work, with the terms for your job confirmed in writing before it starts.

Which of the two fits what you are comparing on

We are not going to tell you which company to call, because the honest answer depends on what you are weighing, and both of these companies publish things the other one does not.

If you are comparing on a published flat price for a same-day spring replacement, that is the one we publish, with its conditions on this page. If you are comparing on a published lifetime spring warranty with a cycle rating attached, that is the one A1 Garage Door Service publishes. If you are comparing on a discount figure for a new door, theirs has a figure and ours does not exist. If you are comparing on what the visit costs before anybody touches the door, ours is $0 with a free inspection. Ask any company you call what theirs is.

Ask any company you call whether they do it, this one included, because a residential price list does not cover a fourteen foot door.

How to check every line of this yourself

None of this asks you to trust us, which is the point of writing it this way.

The licence half takes about a minute. The Nevada State Contractors Board runs a public licence search at app.nvcontractorsboard.com where you can look up either company by licence number or by name, and read the classification, the status, the bond and the insurance for yourself. Both numbers are in the table above.

The published half takes about five. Open a1garage.com and read their Las Vegas page, then read this site, and compare the two against what you actually need doing. If you find a line here that no longer matches what their site says, tell us and it is corrected: these pages are re-checked every 90 days, and immediately out of cycle if anything looks wrong.
